Mary Mickelson

Mary Matilda Mickelson was born May 30, 1924 in New Ulm, MN to Joseph and Teresa (Tregner) Suess. She was united in marriage to Palmer Mickelson on July 25, 1942 in New Ulm. The couple farmed Palmer's family farm until 1960 when they moved to Madelia. Mary worked as a housekeeper in several homes before going to work at Luther Memorial Home for 12 years. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Madelia and Rachel Circle. Mary enjoyed cooking, raising flowers, and spending time with her family. She is survived by her children- Connie and husband Gordy Ellanson, Sr. of Le Center, Lynn and husband Gerald Morrow of Zumbrota, and Randy and wife Melody Mickelson of Madelia; 7 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; sister Fronnie Kraus of New Ulm; sisters-in-law- Erva Haynes of Madelia, and Jolaine Suess of New Ulm; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Palmer in 2007; son Edward 'Sonny'; and brothers- Clarence, Ludewig, and Walter.
