Mary Ann (Kuelbs) Broich passed away at age 90 on May 22 at the Sleepy Eye Care Center. She was born on November 14, 1931, to Einar and Leona (Brand) Kuelbs in New Ulm, MN. She attended New Ulm Public Schools and graduated in the class of 1949. She met the love of her life James Broich and they were married on July 11, 1950, in Sleepy Eye. This marriage blessed them with two children, Jeanne and Robert (Bob). Mary Ann loved being a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. As a homemaker, she was a great cook and baker known for her delicious cookies and jams. She will be missed by her family and friends for her kindness and guidance. Mary Ann is survived by her children, Jeanne (Dave) Wass of Essig, Bob (Annette) Broich of Plymouth; grandchildren, Matt Wass, Essig, Amanda (Matt) Horkey, Springfield, Kristen (Jake) Kulkay, Andover, Tom (fiancé Tarah) Broich, Minneapolis; great grandchildren, Dylan Rubey, Tyson Horkey, Abby Kulkay, Caleb Kulkay; brother, Gardell (LaVonne) Kuelbs, sister-in-laws, Audrey Schultz and Ursula Broich, as well as many nieces and nephews.
