Marvin Mork

July 4, 1931 — November 28, 2013

Marvin Ray Mork was born on July 4, 1931 on the Voss Farm near St. James, MN the son of Marvin Lena (Stam) Mork. He attended school in Ormsby and later served as a Sergeant in US Army in Korea from January of 1951 until he was honorably discharged in September of 1953. Marvin made his home in Ormsby, MN and worked at Leverson's Furniture store in Odin installing and repairing home appliances. He later moved to Alexandria where he worked in the maintenance department at Alexandria Technical College. He moved back to St. James in 1996 after he retired. Marvin enjoyed trains, music, birds and was a Twins fan. He was an active member of Long Lake Lutheran Church and a member of the St. James VFW Post. Marv always enjoyed his many friends and family and would always leave you with a smile and kind word or joke. He especially enjoyed spending time with his two daughters and special friend, Betty. Survivors include his daughters, Pat Mork of Woodbury, MN and Peggy (Gene) Ward of Pennock, MN, grandchildren, Katherine Kiecker of San Diego, CA and Ann Kiecker of Corpus Christi, TX, siblings, DuWayne (Gudrun) Kjelshus of Hanska, Loren (Jeri) Bright of Ormsby and Lenora (Jack) Carter of St. James and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Mable Peterson and special friend, Betty Tiedeken.
