Marvin Flogstad, age 94, of St. James died on Monday, October 22, 2012, at Pleasant View Good Samaritan Center in St. James. Funeral services will be 11am, Friday, October 26, 2012, at Albion Lutheran Church, rural St. James with Rev. Robert Springer officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Friday at the church one hour before services. Marvin J. Flogstad was born March 25, 1918, on the family farm near Godahl, the son of T.P. Karen Flogstad. Marvin attended country school and was a member of Albion Lutheran Church. He served in the U.S. Army from 1942-1946 and was stationed in Belgium. He played fast pitch softball for many years for Godahl. Marvin farmed his entire life. He liked to deer hunt, snowmobile and travel, which included yearly trips to his army reunion. He was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Ellingburg-Zettel Post 1914 and the American Legion Post 33 both located in St. James. He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
