Marvelle Verna Ritchey

Marvelle Verna Ritchey was born on March 23, 1923 in Sanborn, MN, the daughter of Hugo W. and Elsie (Kosel) Yackel. She graduated form Sanborn High School and then attended Kansas City Secretarial School in Kansas City, MO. She worked for International Harvester and while employed there she met and married Arnold Ritchey on March 17, 1952 in Denver, CO. She then took civil services test and upon passing that she was administrator for State Board for Community Colleges and Occupational Education in 1966 and retired from there in 1984. Marvelle moved to Sleepy Eye in 2010 and resided at Countryside. She enjoyed bingo, cards, traveling, canning fruit, trips to New York City and spending time in Yuma, AZ with a travel trailer. Marvelle age 93, of Sleepy Eye, Minnesota died on May 4, 2016, at the Sleepy Eye Care Center. She is survived by her sister, Joann Brown of Sanborn. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Arnold, brothers, Gene, Lesley, Donald and sister, Marion Essig.
