Martha Pankratz

Martha Marie Adrian, the daughter of Isaac John and Marie (Goertzen) Adrian was born in April 3, 1922, at Mountain Lake, MN. She received her education at a country school near her home and the German Bible School in Mountain Lake. On May 28, 1939, Martha was baptized upon confession of her faith at the First Mennonite Church in Mountain Lake, and she later transferred her membership to the Bethel Mennonite Church in Mountain Lake. Martha was united in marriage to Henry H. Pankratz on March 9, 1945,at the First Mennonite Church. They farmed in the St. James, MN area and southeastern Cottonwood County area before moving to her parents' farm in 1959, where they remained. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and making blankets, and baking for her family. Martha Marie (Adrian) Pankratz, age 82, of Mountain Lake, MN, died on Sunday, January 30, 2005, at the Windom Area Hospital in Windom, MN. Martha is survived by a daughter, Roslyn and her husband Don Jenkins of Fridley, MN; two sons, LaVerne and his wife Bryce Pankratz of Crosby, MN and Dale and his wife Carol Pankratz of Mountain Lake, MN; 12 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a sister, Magdalene Becker of Mountain Lake, MN; two brothers, Abe and his wife Lorraine Adrian of Mountain Lake, MN and Joe and his wife Gladys Adrian of Glenco, MN; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and herhusband, Henry H. Pankratz on November 24, 1999.
