Visitation will be one hour before services at the church on Monday. Martha Larson was born on November 5, 1917 at Rutland, ND to parents Jack Ragnahild Rose (Sperstad) Larson. On September 21, 1935 Martha married Gorden Mickelson in Madelia. The couple made their home in LaSalle where she lived for 60 years. She was active at LaSalle Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school, belonged to the Alter Guild, and ladies aide. She moved to St. James in 1993 and in 2003 she moved into Glen Oaks Care Center in New London where her daughter LaRue was a resident. Martha loved music she played the piano and loved to listen to music to include classical music. She also was up on current events and enjoyed discussing them. Martha suffered from asthma her entire life. She had an extraordinary memory she could recited each grandchild's birthday, wedding dates and birth dates of her sisters kids. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She looked forward to family gathering and spending time with her grandchildren, family and friends. Martha was preceded in death by her husband Gorden in April 1984, daughter Phyllis and her husband James Vosocky, parents, brothers Ralph and Earl, and sister Juliet. She is survived by her children and their spouses, LaRue Paul Mikkelson of Eagle Lake, Donavon Judy Mickelson of St. James, Douglas Kathleen Mickelson of Apple Valley, John Bradley Sharon Mickelson of Eagen, sisters, Inga Olson of Apple Valley, Lorrainne Haaland of Lidgerwood, ND, Irene Olson of Springfield, brothers, Oris Larson of Florida, Joel Larson of Havana, ND, grandchildren, Stephanie, Jowain, Derek, Laura, Lee, Troy, Todd, Paul, Scott, Nicole, Allison and 13 great-grandchildren.
