Martha Enns was born on January 4, 1909, to John and Katharina (Dick) Enns in Carson Township, Cottonwood County, MN. She was born in a Christian home and accepted Christ as her Savior and Lord in her teen years and was baptized. The family moved to Montana when she was a child, and she grew up there. She met Jacob Bartsch when her brother married Jake's sister. Martha and Jake married on November 3, 1929, and they moved to Minnesota after their marriage. God blessed them with three children, Fern, Lyle and Gene, 11 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. Jake died on January 27, 1990. Martha loved both vegetable and flower gardening, and she often placed flowers in her church. She worked at the Windom Florist and at Hiebert Greenhouse in Mountain Lake. She later worked at the Cottonwood County DAC when it was located in Delft. She loved to cook and bake - she had a real baking ministry, baking for family, friends and neighbors. She loved her Lord and served Him in her church in variouscapacities. She taught Sunday School, sang in musical groups, and was active in the sewing circle. In her later years she spent much time in Bible Study and praying for her family. Martha Bartsch died at the age of 97 years on Thursday morning, December 7, 2006 at the Windom Area Hospital in Windom, MN. Martha is survived by three children, Fern and husband Ralph Ewert of Lincoln, NE, Lyle Bartsch of Shakopee, MN, and Gene and Phyllis Bartsch of Burnsville, MN; 11 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Kate Enns of Bradenton, FL; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jake Bartsch; a grandson, Cory Lee Bartsch; four sisters, Anna Funk, Kate Kline, Susie Niessen and Marianna Enns; and four brothers, Henry Enns, Jake Enns, Abe Enns and John Enns.
