Marlow Harvey Erickson

Marlow H. Erickson age 84, of Lamberton , Minnesota died on February 11, 2025, at the Sanford Westbrook Medical Center.

Visitation will be on Sunday, February 16, 2025 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Sturm Funeral Home, Lamberton Chapel and will continue on Monday from 9:30 am until 10:30 am at Old Westbrook Lutheran Church. Memorial service will be held at Old Westbrook Lutheran Church, on Monday, February 17, 2025 at 10:30 am. The clergy will be Pastor Michael Stangeland. Interment will be at the Old Westbrook Lutheran Cemetery in rural Westbrook, MN.

Marlow Harvey Erickson was born on August 30, 1940, in Tracy, MN, the son of Harvey and Inga (Swenson) Erickson. He was baptized and confirmed at Old Westbrook Lutheran Church and graduated from Westbrook High School in 1958. After high school he continued his education at the University of Minnesota St Paul Campus in the College of Agriculture. On October 21, 1961, Marlow married Diane Erickson at the Sharon Lutheran Church in Lamberton. Their marriage was blessed with four children, Chris, Eric, Thor and Kari.

In 1963 Marlow went to work for Revere Coop Oil. In 1966 he and his family moved to Ocono Falls, WI where he completed his manager training with Midland. He returned to manage Revere Coop Oil in Revere, MN, where he would spend the next 20 years. In 1995, Marlow purchased the C-Store and Ready Oil in Westbrook, MN, retiring in 2006.

Marlow enjoyed many hobbies throughout the years - golf, bowling, softball, reading Louis L'Amour westerns, collecting McDonalds, going to flea markets, auctions and Bible studies. He especially loved traveling. A few of his favorite places were summers in Okoboji, IA and winter trips to Hawaii. He also looked forward to family gatherings and visiting with any and everyone. Most of all, spending time with his family was his favorite pastime. Marlow was active in the community as well as serving on multiple boards over the years including the Old Westbrook Church Council, the Minnesota Association of Coops, Lamberton Lions, the Lamberton School Board for almost 18 years, Westbrook Kiwanis and the Westbrook Hospital Board.

Marlow passed away at the age of 84 at the Westbrook Hospital on Tuesday, February 11, 2025. (His mother Inga passed away on this same day 24 years ago.)

He will lovingly be remembered by his wife of 63 years, Diane; children- Christine (Gregg) Erickson, Eric Erickson, Thor (Becky) Erickson, Kari(Jarrid) Erickson; grandchildren, Alyssa (Brad) and Alex (Alyssa) Pfarr, Chase Swope, Jacob, Sage, Jenna, Cara and Claire Erickson; great grandchildren, Samantha, Brody, Jack, Kennedy and Watson Pfarr; siblings David Erickson, Keith (Joan) Erickson and Beverly (Lee) Huls; brothers-in-law Dennis (Julie) Erickson, Ed Jr. (Gayle) Erickson; sister-in-law Phyllis (Dave) Werness, and many nieces and nephews. Marlow is in heaven with his parents Harvey and Inga Erickson; parents-in-law Edwin Sr. and Edna Erickson; sister-in-law Marilyn Erickson and nephew Kyle Erickson.

Marlow will always be remembered for that "twinkle in his eye", his warm and genuine smile and his jovial personality. He would often say, "The sun will come out tomorrow". This quote of hope and optimism will be held in his family's heart, especially during this time of profound sadness. Blessed be his memory.
