Marlin Arlo Uhrhammer was born August 26, 1929 in Fox Lake Township, Martin County, the son of John and Clara (Garbers) Uhrhammer. He attended and graduated from Martin County Rural School District 90. On September 5, 1953, Marlin was united in marriage to Mae Valentien at the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Welcome, MN. The couple farmed in the Sherburn and Welcome area before moving to the farm near Comfrey in 1964. Marlin was a member of New Hope Lutheran Church and served on various church councils, as well as serving on the Farmers Elevator Board in Darfur for over 20 years. He enjoyed farming, auctions, fishing and visiting with family and friends. Marlin Arlo Uhrhammer died Wednesday, February 16, 2005 at his home in rural Comfrey at the age of 75 years. Survivors include sons- Gary of Butterfield, Daryl and wife Carol of Shakopee, and Joel and Kevin of Comfrey; grandchildren- Robbe and Cody Uhrhammer, Jennifer Anacker, and Julie and husband Michael Krech; brother- Erwin and wife Amelia Uhrhammer of Sherburn; and sisters-in-law- Edith Timmerman of Trimont and Mildred Vanden Hoek of Garvin. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife- Mae in November 2004; sister- Dora Atzenhoefer; and brothers- Wilbert and Robert 'Bud' Timmerman.
