Marlin Odegard

Marlin Dean Odegard was born July 1, 1954 at Madelia, MN to parents Orrie and Betty (Beckius) Odegard. Marlin grew up on the family farm near Godahl where he attended Rural Brown County School. The family moved to St. James in 1967 and Marlin graduated from St. James High School in 1972. He then attended auto body repair school at Willmar Vo-Tech for two years. He worked at Kimberly-Clark in Windom until 1981 before moving to Mankato for a short period of time returning to St. James where he worked for various companies in the area. Marlin was raised in the Lutheran Church, he was baptized and confirmed at Albion Lutheran Church. Marlin enjoyed annual family trips fishing at Spider Lake near Grand Rapids. He loved spending time with his family and friends at various activities. Marlin Odegard passed away on Monday, May 7, 2007 at his home he was 52 years old. He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents. Marlin is survived by his sons, Macey Odegard of Montana, Jesse Odegard and Dawn Fast of St. James, Mickey Odegard of Minneapolis, his mother, Betty Odegard of St. James, grandchildren, Dezman, Jazmin, Jerney, Harley, Jordyn, Skylar and Alexys, brothers, Michael (Cindy) Odegard of St. Peter, Roger (Sue) Odegard of Prior Lake, David Odegard of St. James, Curtis Odegard of Madelia, Allen Odegard of Chanhassen, numerous nieces and nephews.
