Marlene Jean (Schultz) Krahn was born to William and Lena Schultz on August 30, 1936 in Hawley, MN.  She was baptized on December 12, 1936 and confirmed on September 24, 1950.  Marlene was a graduate of Hawley Public Schools in 1955 and worked at Northwestern Life Insurance in Minneapolis prior to her marriage.  She married Willis Krahn on July 14, 1957 at the Hawley Lutheran Church.  Marlene enjoyed cooking and baking; she was always trying a new recipe.  The rhubarb grown in her yard was used to make many pies, breads and muffins.  There will be a few guys that will miss her rhubarb pies, bread and banana bread.  Marlene also made jelly from the grapes grown in the yard.  She enjoyed watching the Minnesota Vikings, always proudly wearing purple and making popcorn for Vikings games.  She also enjoyed Minnesota Gophers sports and wore maroon and gold proudly!  Marlene was proud to say she was from Hawley.  A Hawley Nugget! Hawley was her favorite place to visit.

She enjoyed her John Deere lawn mower.  Mowing lawn was one of her favorite summer pastimes.  She also liked to spend time sitting on the deck watching the birds, enjoying her favorite beverage.  She went on many drives with Willie to their favorite places for a beverage, Semi trips, yearly vacations to Detroit Lakes and camping trips to Yellowstone, among other places.  Marlene was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary Post 1296 Bloomington MN. Most of all, she loved her family very much. She will be dearly missed!

Marlene is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Willie Krahn; son, Neil (Julie Kroll) Krahn; twin daughters, Cindy (Bick) Sandbo, Sandra (Spencer) Melheim, daughter, Lynn Fischer; grandchildren, Daniel (Arica) Melheim, Ashley McGill, Louis (Norah) Grosklags, Cole (Ashley) Bauer, Grant Krahn, Harris Krahn, Elyse Krahn; great-grandchildren, Aaliyah Sulflow, Brody Bauer, Case Spear, Hendrix Melheim, Raiden Grosklags, Bentleigh Maras, Hailee Spear; special nephew, Wayne Gunderson; special nieces, Karen Moreno and Kristi Schultz; along with many other family members and friends.
