Mark Theodore Vollmer

Mark T. Vollmer, age 65, passed away on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN. Memorial services will be planned at a later date. Memorials may be sent to: Benchs Riverside Pet Shelter in Mankato, MN. Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye. Condolences may be left at www.sturmfh.com Mark was born on October 26, 1953 in Sleepy Eye, MN, the son of Roger E. & Marie A. (Frasch) Vollmer. Mark graduated from Sleepy Eye Public High School. He furthered his education at Southwest Minnesota College earning a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. He went on to earn a degree in Learning Disabilities from St. Cloud State University, and E/BD Behavioral Disorders/Special Ed from Minnesota State University, Mankato. Mark was united in marriage to Jesse Robles on September 17, 2018. He thoroughly enjoyed education teaching in Hector, St. James and Mankato. Mark enjoyed yard work, working in the many flower gardens, woodworking, baking and cooking. Mark is survived by his husband, Jesse Robles of Mankato, brother, Michael (Patricia) Vollmer of Redwood Falls, sister, Cleo (Roger) Matzke of Good Thunder, nephew, Marcus (Emily) Matzke of Carolina Beach, NC, niece, Sarah (Nicholas) Goelz and their children of New London and beloved, Carin Terrier, Perelli. He was preceded in death by his parents and nephew, Patrick Vollmer. His gracious smile will be missed by everyone his life has touched. Blessed be his memory.
