Mark Jensen

74 year old Mark Jensen of rural Sleepy Eye, MN died at the New Ulm Medical Hospice Unit in New Ulm, MN. Mark P. Jensen was born August 14, 1933 in New Ulm to Marcus P. Lilac M. (Zellmer) Jensen. Mark grew up in Sleepy Eye and was a 1951 graduate of Sleepy Eye Public School. After graduation he joined the United States Air Force and served four years as an Airplane Mechanic. Mark was united in marriage to Arlene R. Brockhoff on March 3, 1962 in New Ulm. The couple made their home on the family farm by Sleepy Eye where Mark farmed for 35 years. For many years while farming he worked during the winters at Hornbrook Ford in Sleepy Eye. In 1993, Mark retired, but worked seasonally at Farmers Elevator in Evan and Sleepy Eye until 2006. Mark enjoyed watching his grandchildren play and feeding the pheasants. He is survived by his wife, Arlene of Sleepy Eye, son, David (Kelli) Jensen of Comfrey, daughter, Brenda (Bob) Runck of Springfield, four granddaughters, Megan, Allison and Cindy Jensen and Haley Runck, step-grandsons, Zachary, Nicholas and Benjamin Runck and six nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Janet Schneider and uncle, Harry R. Zellmer.
