Mark Gary Boettger

March 19, 1970 — February 28, 2024

Mark Gary Boettger age 53 of Springfield passed away of natural causes on February 28, 2024 at his home. Mark was born on March 19, 1970 to Richard E and Alice J Boettger in Springfield, the youngest of four boys.

Mark attended Springfield Public Schools graduating in the class of 1988. Mark participated in football and wrestling in high school years and was lovingly dubbed as “Tank” by his friends and teammates.  After high school he attended Pipestone Vo-tech for meat cutting. Upon course completion, Mark worked as a meat cutter in Osakis and Madelia  MN grocery stores. Mark then returned to Springfield and began a 28 year career with Sanborn Manufacturing from February 1994 to September 2022.  Mark then helped care for his father, Richard, prior to his passing in 2023.


Mark enjoyed playing darts, deer hunting in “Tanks Valley” at the Schottenbauer Deer Camp, collecting comic books, video games and movies. His passion for football was carried out by cheering on the MN Vikings.


Mark was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his brothers Roger (Nancy) Boettger, Morgan; Greg (Amy) Boettger, Springfield, and Todd (Mary) Boettger, Owatonna. Mark is also survived by Jessica (Justin) Brand, Dina (Bryce) Lubben, Teresa (Luke Jensen) Boettger, Christopher Boettger, Brennen (Sarah) Boettger, Dylan (Tabatha Schwint) Boettger, Melinda (Mike) Coequyt and Matt (Katie) Boettger along with 13 great nieces and nephews.


A celebration of life will be held on Friday, March 15, 2024, 4:30-7:30 pm at the Springfield American Legion.
