Marjorie Mathistad

Marjorie Jane Bever, the daughter of Roy and Cora (Cornell) Bever was born on April, 30, 1915, at Carlisle, IA. On September 28, 1936, Marjorie was united in marriage to Palmer H. Mathistad at Omaha, NE. Following their marriage Marjorie was baptized and confirmed at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in rural Odin, MN, where she remained a member until the time of her death. Marjorie and Palmer lived in Odin, MN for a short time before moving to a farm west of Trimont, MN. After ten years they moved to a farm in Odin Township in 1948, where they continued to farm until retirement. Marjorie worked for Tony Downs and Butterfield Foods for 20 years. After Palmer's death on June 12, 1983, Marjorie moved into Butterfield, MN. Marjorie Mathistad died on Saturday evening, July 28, 2007, at the St. James Heath Services Hospital at the age of 92 years. Marjorie is survived by two sons, Wayne Mathistad and his wife S. LaVonne of St. James, and Larry Mathistad of Evanston, WY; two daughters, Doris Brude of Mankato, MN and Judy Gedicke and her husband Ronald of Clarissa, MN; a son-in-law, Daniel Doyle; nine grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Kathleen Bever of Windom, MN, and Bonnie Bever of Bemidji, MN; many nieces nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Palmer H. Mathistad; a daughter, Jean Doyle; two sisters, Beullah Schrupp and Josephine Bever; and four brothers, Merle, Everett, Robert and Russell Bever.
