Marjorie Mae Sandmann

Marjorie Mae Sandmann was born May 26, 1924, in North Star Township, MN to Albert and Ella (Howe) Kersten. She was confirmed at the EUB Church and attended country school for 8 years. Marjorie then graduated from Springfield High School in 1942. She was united in marriage to Arnold Sandmann on August 27, 1946, in Springfield. The couple moved to a farm south of Lamberton and was blessed with 4 children- Robert, Dennis, Doug and Mary. Marjorie worked as a cook at Valley View Manor for 22 years before retirement. She was a member of Old Westbrook Lutheran Church, Ladies Aid, Dorcas Circle, and Friendly Garden Club. Marjorie enjoyed cooking, crafts, and bus tours and loved spending time with her family. Marjorie Sandmann died Wednesday, May 17, 2017, at Grace Living Community of Glen Oaks in New London, MN at the age of 92. She is survived by children- Robert (special friend Barbara) Sandmann of Detroit Lakes, Dennis (Kathy) Sandmann of McCallsburg, IA, Doug (Amy) Sandmann of Monticello, and Mary (Tim) Johnson of Spicer; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and sisters- Carol Gode and Virginia Matzke of Lamberton.
