Marjorie Marie Imker was born to John T. and Margaret (Subbert) Albers on January 24, 1924 in Truman, MN. After her birth, the family moved to a farm near Lucan, MN. She attended country school at district 29 through 8th grade and then attended and graduated from Wabasso High School in 1941. She worked various jobs, including the egg plant in Marshall. On October 2, 1946, Marjorie was united in marriage to Floyd Imker. The couple farmed and lived their married life south of Lamberton. Marjorie was a member of the United Methodist Church in Lamberton. She enjoyed supporting the UMW, Legion Auxiliary events, and the Cottonwood County 4-H food stand with her prize winning pies and other kitchen skills. Marjorie was a Master Gardener, a member of extension home council, and the Highwater Swap-It Club. She loved to garden, read, sew, square dance, play cards, and travel. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family. Marjorie died on Monday, July 02, 2012 at her home in rural Lamberton. She is survived by her husband of 65 years - Floyd of Lamberton; children - Linda (Kenneth) Knutson of Richfield, Faye (Randy) Witte of Minneapolis, Brent (Jane) Imker of Lamberton, Byron (Sherri) Imker of Sioux Falls, SD, Renee (Paul) Strickland of Gainsville, VA; 19 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; a sister - Betty Ann Jaeger of Lucan; and a brother - Vernon (Evelyn) Albers of Redwood Falls. She is preceded in death by her parents; son - Charles; brother - Harold (Arline) Subbert; sisters - Leona (Leo) Krusemark and Luthera (Ernie) Arnone. Memorial may be made to United Methodist Summer Camp Projects or The Lakeview Methodist Home.
