Marion Joyce Harms, age 101, of Saint James, MN, died on April 6, 2024, at Good Samaritan Society-The Village in Mountain Lake, MN.
Services will be held at the First Lutheran Church, St. James, on Monday, April 15, 2024 at 11:00 am. Visitation will be from 10-11am at the church.
The clergy will be Rev. Andrew Hermodson-Olsen and Rev. Joy Ekstedt. Interment will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in St. James.

Marion Joyce (Undestad) Harms was born on December 5, 1922 to Lawrence Nels and Agnes (Flogstad) Undestad in Green Bay, Wisconsin. She lived in Chaska, MN and moved to St. James in 1926. Marion was confirmed at the First Lutheran Church in St. James. She graduated from St. James High School in 1941 and attended Mankato Commercial College in 1942. Following her education, she worked as Secretary at the County Extension Office, Secretary to Superintendent E. L. Vitalis at the St James High School and was Deputy County Recorder for 23 years. She retired in 1986.
Marion married Verlin W. Harms on November 3, 1944 at First Lutheran Church, St. James. The two were married for 53 years before Verlin's passing in 1997.
Marion was an active member of First Lutheran Church, served as an election judge, volunteered at the food shelf, V.F.W. Auxiliary, the Extension Club, Birthday Club, Candy Club and Serving Club. In her spare time she enjoyed sewing, crocheting, crafts and being with her family.
Marion is survived by her son, Gary V. Harms of Minnetonka; daughter, Nancy (Craig) MacDonald of Brainerd; daughter-in-law, Lynelle Harms of Mankato; sister, Phyllis Jurgens of St James; sisters-in-law, LaVonne Undestad, Marge Harms; 4 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Verlin Harms; son, Steve Harms; sisters, Leona Loeschen, Rhoda (Ardie) Olson; brothers, Richard (Barbara) Undestad, Norman Undestad; sister-in-law, Beatrice(Ernest) Swenson, and brothers-in-law, Wally Jurgens and Bill Harms.
Memorials are preferred to First Lutheran Church or charity of your choice.
