Marion Anderson

Marion Arlene (Sandberg) Anderson was born on November 5, 1934 in Butterfield. She died on Sunday, October 30, 2006 at Immanuel St. Josephs Hospital in Mankato at the age of 71. Marion was raised in rural Butterfield and graduated from Butterfield High School. She was married to Raynold Anderson on March 28, 1955, they couple moved to rural Watonwan County following his discharge from the military. Marion worked most of her life between Tony Downs Foods and Swift Eckrich in St. James. She made many friends at work. Everyone called her grandma and everywhere she went she knew somebody. She enjoyed playing bingo whenever she could and embroidering dishtowels and pillow cases. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and watching her grandchildren play sports. Marion is survived by her two children, Dean Anderson and special friend Gail Riewe and son Zac of St. James, Lori (Anderson) Ebargary of Lake Crystal, six grandchildren, Joshua Anderson of Mankato, Matthew Anderson and his wife Heidi of New Ulm, Briann and Cody Anderson of Phoenix, AZ, Rachel and Jacob Ebargary of Lake Crystal. Marion was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents and aunts and uncles.
