Marilyn Rose (Nogosek) Sogaard, 75, of rural Clements, MN died on Monday, January 22, 2007 at her home in rural Clements, MN. Visitation will be at the Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield, MN on Wednesday, January 24, 2007 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Thursday from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at St. Joseph's Oratory in Clements. Service will be held at St. Joseph's Oratory in Clements, MN on Thursday, January 25, 2007 at 10:30 AM. The Clergy will be Monsignor Robert Wyffels. Interment will be at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield, MN. E-mail condolences may be sent to the family at www.sturmfh.com. Marilyn Rose Nogosek Sogaard was born October 19, 1931 in Kensal, North Dakota, the daughter of Louis and Ella (Hess) Nogosek. Her childhood nic name was sis. As a child she enjoyed singing in the church choir, participating in school plays, and was Salutatorian of her high school class. Marilyn married Elton Sogaard on December 26, 1949 at Sundown Lutheran Church. The couple took over Elton's family farm in 1951 and raised six children. Marilyn enjoyed their lake home in Park Rapids, MN. She always thought of that as her favorite place for gathering of family and friends. This past December the couple celebrated there 57th year of marriage. She was a faithful member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Morgan and St. Joseph's Oratory. She enjoyed her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and loved to laugh, joke, and clown around. Marilyn died on Monday, January 22, 2006 at her home near Clements, MN at the age of 75 years. She is survived by her husband - Elton L. Sogaard; children - Jim Sogaard of Princeton, MN, Cheryl and husband Peter Hankes of Apple Valley, Jodi Sogaard of Poplar Grove, IL, Kim Sogaard of Mankato, MN, Lisa and husband Joseph Farrell of Mattituck, NY, and Kristi and husband Brian Wambeke of Morrison, IL; 7 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and a sister - Yvonne Nogosek of Idaho Falls. She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother - Loren Nogosek.
