Marilyn Ann (Hendricks) Arndt of Lamberton, Minnesota died September 1, 2013, peacefully at home surrounded by her family. There will be a private Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph's Catholic Church of Lamberton. Born September 17, 1937 to Albert J. and Anna M. (Curran) Hendricks, Marilyn resided in Barry and Graceville, Minnesota throughout her childhood. She graduated Class of 1955 from St. Mary's Academy in Graceville and worked in the business office of the Graceville Hospital. Upon graduation, Marilyn attended the Minneapolis School of Business. She married Warren Arndt on June 2, 1956, residing in Clinton while working at the Graceville Bank. They moved to Lamberton in 1958 where they built a home and raised 6 children. Marilyn was an exceptional wife and stay-at-home mother. Later working as a bookkeeper for numerous area businesses, she was a valued longtime employee and friend at Esser's Department Store in Springfield, Minnesota. With family and friends, Marilyn enjoyed golfing, biking, dancing, photography, gardening, caring for her home and spending time at the lake. She enthusiastically participated in the lives of her children and grandchildren, possessed compassion and wisdom, and will be dearly missed. Marilyn is survived by her husband, Warren Arndt of Lamberton; 4 children, Gregg of Milaca, Carrie of Woodbury, Colleen (Bryan) Jacobsen of Lake Elmo, and David of Minneapolis; 10 grandchildren, Megan (Mike) Watercott; Molly and Logan Arndt; Lucas, Alix, Jared, and Tayler Matzke; Gracie, Katelyn, and Cole Jacobsen; 2 great-grandchildren, Henry and Eleanor Watercott; a son-in-law, Bryan Jacobsen, a daughter-in-law, Kelly Arndt; a brother, Jerry (Jane) Hendricks of Fargo, North Dakota; a sister, Barbara (Keith) Marschke of Casselton, North Dakota; many nieces and nephews. Marilyn is preceded in death by a son, Kurt Arndt; a son, Rick Arndt; parents, Albert Hendricks and Anna (Curran) Hendricks; and a brother, Dennis Hendricks. In lieu of flowers or donations, please remember Marilyn and her family in prayer.
