Marie Ann Tauer

March 7, 1919 — July 9, 2016

Marie Ann (Wiltscheck) Tauer was born on March 7th, 1919 in Home Township, Brown County, MN the daughter of Charles and Rose (Hillesheim) Wiltscheck. She married Hilarius "Larry" Tauer on June 5th, 1940 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye. After their marriage they farmed in Mulligan Township. In addition to raising six sons and two daughters, Marie worked at DelMonte and at the Orchid Inn. She retired to Divine Providence Home in 2006 where she was renowned for crocheting many doilies including doilies for auction and altar pieces for the Divine Providence Chapel. Survivors include her children, Patricia Alt of Sleepy Eye, Marlene (Donald) Chambers of Stillwater, Charles (Pamela) Tauer of Silverton, OR, Dennis (Rita) Tauer of Jordan, David (Wanda) Tauer of Sleepy Eye, Jerome (Bonnie) Tauer of Harrison, AR; 26 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Larry, Jr. in 2003, husband Hilarius in 2004, son, Donald in 2009, sisters, Dorothy Krzmarzick, Viola Krzmarzick, Agnes Forster, Elvera Neudecker, Catherine Sellner and Rosemary Wiltscheck and son-in-law, Ray Alt.
