Marie Soukup

Marie Mathilda was born on June 12, 1922 near Comfrey, MN the daughter of Joe Sophie (Riederer) Forster. She grew up and attended country school near Comfrey. After she completed her schooling, Marie worked at Del Monte in Sleepy Eye and didhousework for families. She married Everett Soukup on October 27, 1941 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye. The couple made their home on a farm three miles South of Sleepy Eye where they lived and farmed for many years. Marie was a member of St.Mary's Catholic Church, the Christian Mothers, and the Catholic Aid Association. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, making quilts for her grandkids and especially flowers. Survivors include her husband, Everett Soukup of Sleepy Eye, sons, David Soukup of Minneapolis, Paul wife Linda of New Ulm, Rick wife Dee of Clear Lake and Ron wife Diane of Blaine, eleven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and sister,Adeline husband Bill Harple of Glencoe. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter-in-law Sharon Soukup, sister, Veronica Goblirsch, brothers, Edward, Louis, Ted and Fritz Forster.
