Marie Lindquist

Marie Lindquist, age 81, of St. James, died on Saturday, July 28, 2012, at the Luther Memorial Home in Madelia. Funeral Services will be 10:30am, Thursday, August 2, 2012, at Augustana Lutheran Church in St. James with Rev. Kathleen Ulland-Klinkner officiating. Burial will be at East Sveadahl Lutheran Cemetery rural St. James. Visitation will be Wednesday at Sturm Funeral Home in St. James from 4pm until 8pm with a 7pm Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary service. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday. Marie G. Koehn was born October 25, 1930, in Whittemore, Iowa, the daughter of George and Josephine (Hoescheid) Koehn. On May 29, 1954, Marie was united in marriage to Edward E. Lindquist. They made their home on the farm north of St. James. They were members of East Sveadahl Lutheran Church. After Edward passed away, in 1961, Marie and her two girls moved to St. James. Marie worked at Tony Downs Foods in St. James and Madelia for 31 years. She was an active member of Augustana Lutheran Church. She enjoyed baking cookies and spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other family and friends.. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagle Auxillary. Marie enjoyed planting petunias and tending her garden. She is survived by her daughters; Louise (Rich) Olsen of St. James, Linda (Ed) Connell of St. James, sister; Elizabeth (Bernard) Zeidler of St. James, grandchildren; Jennifer (Geoff) Lemarr, Josh Altenburg and special friend Molly Seck, Katie Altenburg and special friend Jay Steffl, Melanie Connell and fiance Paul Allen, Kristi Connell, Tyler Connell and special friend Arica Otte, great-grandchildren; Preston Julia Lemarr, Brynn Steel Allen and Hayden Davis.
