Marie Albertson

Marie Albertson was born on May 23, 1918 to Camille and Augusta (Van Hecke) Buyck in North Hero Township, Redwood County. She attended Walnut Grove Public School. On November 28, 1939 she was united in marriage to Orland Bob Albertson at St. Paul Catholic Church in Walnut Grove. The couple farmed in the Walnut Grove area for 4 years and then farmed in the Lamberton area until retiring in 1980. Marie and Bob moved into Lamberton in 1983. Marie had a strong love of family, many friendships, and also enjoyed reading, playing cards, and flowers. Many have good memories of parties she and Bob hosted and the beautiful impatiens she tended to each summer. She loved helping her grandkids and great grandkids as they helped and supported her. The family would like to thank Valley View Manor staff and Compassionate Care Hospice of Worthington for their great care. She is survived by five grandchildren - Erwin Rogotzke, Brad Rogotzke (Kristine), Michael Rogotzke, Rodney Rogotzke (Renee), and Kim Christianson (Paul); six great grandchildren - Brandon (Whitney), Kayla, Zachary (Chelsea), Daniel, Jackson, and Abbi; son-in-law Dan Christianson; and sister-in-laws -Theresa Buyck and Maxine Buyck. Marie was preceded in death by her husband Bob; daughters - Patricia Christianson and Sharon Rogotzke; son-in-law - Richard Rogotzke; brothers - Melvin Buyck, Eugene Buyck, and Charles Bud Buyck; sister Donna (Buyck) Thielen, sister-in-law Betty Buyck, brother-in-law Hank Thielen. Memorials may be given to Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Lamberton and or Valley View Manor Care Center in Lamberton.
