Marian Stern

Marian Ellen Stern was born March 21, 1924, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Frank and Nora (Davis) McCauley. She graduated from Lamberton High School in 1942 and returned to work in Chicago. Marian returned to the Lamberton area and was united in marriage to William A. Stern on June 18, 1947, in Lamberton. The couple lived in Sanborn until moving in 1952 to their farm East of Wanda. They resided there until they retired in 1985. The couple then moved to rural Sanborn. Marian was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Wanda and a current member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Willow Lake Township and enjoyed Bible Study. She enjoyed Bingo, nickel slots, crossword puzzles, reading, current events, being with family, grandchildren, great grandchildren, friends, and family time at Fish Hook Lake. Marian died on Thursday, November 20, 2008, at her home in rural Sanborn at the age of 84 years. She is survived by her children - Bill (Darlene) Stern Jr. of Apple Valley, MN, Eugene (Kathryn) Stern of Waldorf, MD, and Douglas (Peggy) Stern of rural Wanda; 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren- Jeff (Jill) Stern, Erin Stern, Lance Stern and his son Tyler, Jason (Jennifer) Stern and their children - Jack, Julia, and William, Ann (Johnny) Frank and their children - Lil' Johnny and Jacee, Wally Stern, and John Stern; sister - Garnet Rechenmacher of St. Joseph, MO; three sisters-in-law - Joyce Stern, Dalores Stern; and Peggy Bredvold; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband - Bill in 2007; sister - Evelyn; and brother - George.
