Marian Short

Marian Short was born on December 12, 1932, in Portland, OR, the daughter of Lloyd and Francis (Devlin) Chappell. She graduated high school and was united in marriage to Joseph Short on March 7, 1951 in Washington state. The couple lived most of their life in Oregon and Montana, but moved to Springfield in 1990. Marion enjoyed crocheting baby hats, playing the piano, and wrote a column for the Springfield Advance Press for the past 13 years. Marian died on Friday, November 7, 2014 at the age of 81 at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield. She is survived by her husband - Joseph of Springfield, children - Jeannette Yeager of Springfield, Dan (Wendy) Short of Mt. Home, ID, Patty (Tom) Dougherty of Fife, WA, and David (Tongbai) of Thailand; 4 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and 1 great great granddaughter; a sister - Deanna Johnson of California; and a brother - Richard Chappell of Washington. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister - Barb Clark, and a son-in-law - Randy Yeager.
