Marian Matheson

Marian Kathryn Matheson was born October 24, 1907 in Underwood, MN, the daughter of George and Florence Kugler. She attended Moorhead State University and was united in marriage to Erroll J. Matheson on August 6, 1928. The couple moved to Springfield in 1941 where Erroll was Superintendant of Schools for 28 years. Marian loved music, playing bridge, church activities, writing poetry and family visits. One of her favorite quotes was, The time God allots to each one of us is like a precious tissue which we embroider as best we know how. Marian Kathryn Matheson died Thursday, January 20, 2005 at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield at the age of 97 years. Survivors include her children- Keith and wife Lynette Matheson of Mankato, MN, Shirley Harder of Minneapolis, and Jeanelle and husband Jim Schultz of Springfield; 4 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 2 sisters; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband- Erroll in 2002; 2 sisters; and granddaughter- Jodi Lynn Schultz.
