Marian was born Oct. 27, 1928, in Dalton NE and adopted at birth by Martha and John Damme, who gave her a loving home and family. She grew up on a farm with her younger brother William, in Winside, NE, and attended Winside High School and Wayne St. Teacher's College for a one year. She married Wilfred (Bill) M. Lenzen on July 15, 1949 in Randolph, Ne. Wilfred was the depot agent for Chicago Northwestern railroad in Winside, Ne. They moved to Randolph, Ne in 1952, when he was transferred on the RR. They had a unique living experience there as they lived right in the depot for two years before moving the St. James, Mn. in 1954, when Bill was made the Star Agent for the RR. They bought their present home in 1955, where Marian lived until she moved to Brandt Ridge in 2008 and Pleasant View in 2011. Marian was a member of the St. James Catholic Church, and was active in Catholic Daughters of America, Christian Mothers and Circle Club. She was an active member and Past President of the American Legion Auxiliary, a Girl Scout Leader, teacher volunteer at St. James Catholic School, and as a volunteer at Pleasant View Nursing home for many years. She went to work for the Chicago Northwestern RR at LaSalle, Mn. in 1967 as agent, before working at the St James depot many more years and retired after 20 years of service in 1987. Marian enjoyed all kinds of crafts and creative activities. She loved her grandchildren and enjoyed many happy occasions with them. In later years, Marian and Bill spent winters in Florida and then purchased a winter home in Yuma, Az., where she wintered for several years after Bill's passing in 2002. Marian is survived by one daughter, Marla Gunderson of Evanston, Il., two sons, Michael and his wife Judy of Omaha, Ne and Dennis of St. James; seven grandchildren; one brother, Bill Damme and his wife Gerry of Norfolk, Ne, two sisters, Phyllis and husband Dick Hawes if Hastings, Ne, and Rene' and husband Sam Reinke of Lexington, Ne. She was proceeded in death by her husband, Bill, of 53 years, and an infant son, Patrick Dean (1956).
