Marian Giesler

August 10, 1919 — December 30, 2005

Marian Iona Giesler was born August 10, 1919, on the family farm in Johnsonville Township, Redwood County, the daughter of Frank and Estella (Dorman) Bittner. She worked at Snow's Hatchery in Sleepy Eye until her marriage to Raymond Giesler in 1944. The couple farmed in Johnsonville Township until retiring in 1961 and moving to Lamberton. Following Ray's death in 1963, Marian worked as a bookkeeper at Danielson's Dentistry, as well as baby-sitting for several families in Lamberton. She was united in marriage to Charles Domine on July 29, 1990 in Wabasso. Charlie died in 1992. Marian moved to the Revere Nursing Home in 2000 and had been a resident at the Tracy Nursing Home since December of '05. She was a longtime member of the Lamberton United Methodist Church and kept their books for several years. Marian enjoyed knitting, crocheting afghans, tatting, baby-sitting, and visiting with family and friends. Marian Iona Giesler died Friday, December 30, 2005, at the Tracy Nursing Home at the age of 86 years. Survivors include brother- Mel and wife Janet Bittner of Lucan; stepson-in-law- Merle and wife Betty Domine of Wabasso; stepdaughters-in-law- Betty Evers of Redwood Falls, and JoAnne Thiede; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband- Ray, and husband- Charlie.
