Maria Sarmiento

Maria Sarmiento age 63, of Saint James, Minnesota died on December 28, 2022, at her home surrounded by family.

Visitation will be on Monday, January 2, 2023 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Sturm Funeral Home, St. James, where a service will be held at 7:00 pm.

The clergy will be Saul Sarmiento. Interment will be on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at 2 pm at the Mt. Hope Cemetery, in St. James, Minnesota.

Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in St. James, Minnesota.

Maria was born on September 17, 1959 in Cadereyta, N.L. Mexico to parents, Guadalupe and Enriqueta (Elizondo) Barron. She married Ruperto Sarmiento Ponce on November 29, 1978, to this union 4 sons were born. Maria was a dedicated employee of Tony Downs Foods for 28 years.  She loved her family and they loved her.

Maria will be missed by her family, husband, Ruperto Sarmiento Ponce; children, Jesse Sarmiento, Fernando Sarmiento, Saul Humberto Sarmiento and Enrique Damian Sarmiento; grandchildren, Jasmine Marie Sarmiento, Saul Eliseo Sarmiento, Valarie Marie Sarmiento, Dahleigha Joyce Marie Sarmiento, Genesis Sarmiento, Enrique Damian Sarmiento Jr; 2 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
