Marguerite Johnson

Marguerite Jean Johnson age 96, of St. James, MN died on August 19, 2024, at Living Meadows at Luther in Madelia.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Faith Lutheran Church-Madelia, on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at 11:00 am. Visitation will take place at the church one hour prior to the service.

The clergy will be Ralph Flitter. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Madelia, MN.

Marguerite Jean Johnson was born August 25, 1927 in St. James, MN to Isaac and Minnie (Beck) Voth.  They lived in Delft, MN while Isaac was in banking.  They then moved to Butterfield, MN and Isaac worked as a Standard Oil distributor.  Marguerite graduated from Butterfield High School.  She married Robert "Bob" Johnson and they had two children, Mary and Bruce.  After Bob finished his military service, Bob and Marguerite "Muggsy" farmed in rural St. James until moving into town in 1965.  For many years, she worked as a Dental Assistant for Dr. Don Davis.  She was an active member in Eastern Star and enjoyed helping with the 4-H program while her children were members, including managing the 4-H food stand.  Marguerite also competed in Open Class Photography and Floral competition at the Watonwan County Fair for many years.  A highlight was always heading to Cook, MN for hunting, fishing and happy hour.

Marguerite is survived by her daughter, Mary Kay (Arlo) Feder; son, Dr. Bruce (Bonnie) Johnson; brother, Ron Voth; 5 grandchildren, Lori (Lowell) Pietsch, Dr. Jeff (Dr. Mari) Feder, Matt (Angie) Feder, Kevin (Heidi) Johnson, K.J. Johnson; 12 great-grandchildren, Madie Johnson, Nate Johnson, Chase Johnson, Delanie Johnson, Lane Feder, Lauren Feder, Grace Feder, Anna Feder, Beth Feder, Ella Feder, Jason Pietsch, Brianna (fiancé Tyler Guggisberg) Pietsch. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; granddaughter, Julie; beloved brother, Harvey Voth and sisters-in-law, Averil Voth and Ileane Voth.
