Margie Wendland

Margie Rae Wendland was born April 24, 1929 in Lamberton, MN, the daughter of John and Ella (Roth) Marben. She attended and graduated from the Lamberton High School. On February 12, 1953 she married Maynard Mickey Wendland in Redwood Falls, MN. Margie worked as an Aide to Dr. Roan and in 1966 she began working for the Lamberton School with Title I. In the early 1970's, she became the office secretary and retired in 1992. Following retirement she volunteered at Valley View Manor in Lamberton. Margie was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and the birthday club. She enjoyed reading, listening to music, gardening, her plants, playing piano, cooking, and bowling prior to retirement. Margie especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, her grandchildren and taking care of their dog Sparky. Margie died on Sunday, October 23, 2005 at the Valley View Manor Care Center in Lamberton, MN. She is survived by her husband - Maynard Mickey Wendland of Lamberton; daughters - Bobbi (Barbara) Wendland of Costa Mesa, CA and Robin and husband Darold Hulke of Eagan and their children - Jennifer and Jessica; brothers - John and wife Lucille Marben of Lake Crystal, Art and wife Carmen Marben of Tracy, and Robert and wife Grace Marben of Green Valley, AZ; and a sister - Doretta Miller of Mesa, AZ. She is preceded in death by her parents; son - Brooks; brother - Darrell Marben and a sister - Lucille Manderfield.
