Margaret Schunk

Margaret Mary Schunk was born August 22, 1941 in Springfield, MN to Frank and Louisa (Kastner) Meisinger. She graduated from Springfield High School in 1959 and moved to Minneapolis and was employed by Northwestern Bell. Margaret was united in marriage to Stanley Schunk on June 24, 1972 at St. Raphael's Catholic Church. The couple moved to Fairmont and Margaret returned to Springfield in 1973 following Stanley's death. She worked for the Springfield Creamery, Artisian in Redwood Falls, and Jackpot Junction Bingo Hall until her retirement in December of 2009. Margaret was a member of St. Raphael's Catholic Church, St. Anne's CCW, and served as Eucharistic Minister at St. Raphael's and St. John Lutheran Home for many years. She was also a member of the St. John Lutheran Home Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary. Margaret enjoyed traveling, reading, shopping and walking. She especially enjoyed being with family and the Golden Girls Eileen, Lucille and Ardis and her wonderful friends. She is survived by sisters- Eileen Fredin of Comfrey, Lucille Maurer of Springfield, and Ardis Olson of Springfield; sister-in-law Lula Marz of Springfield; and a number of caring nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Stanley in 1972; and brothers-in-law- Ray Fredin and Ole Maurer.
