Margaret Anderson

Margaret Kathleen Anderson, daughter of Peter and Clara (Beckman) Zender, was born on December 31, 1925 in St. James, Minnesota. She passed away at the age of 94 on Friday, May 8th, 2020 at the Mayo Clinic Health System - St. James. Margaret was a 1944 graduate of St. James High School and a life long resident of the St. James area. Her marriage to Milburn Luverne (Andy) Anderson took place on July 12, 1947 in St. James. Margaret was employed at ST Industries, a cook at the St. James Public Schools, after she started a family she was a volunteer at the Watonwan Memorial Hospital and then became a dietitian and housekeeper for the Watonwan Memorial Hospital. After retiring, she was a volunteer at the Mayo Clinic Health System - St. James until she was 92 years old. She was a member of the St. James Catholic Church, a local Board member of the National Catholic Order of Forresters, and the Ladies VFW Auxiliary in St. James. Margaret enjoyed watching game shows, her grandchildren participating in many activities, sewing, gardening, sitting on her swing watching cars go by, Saturday drives, and cooking suppers for her family. Margaret was immensely proud of her family, and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories. Margaret's life was a living example of Ephesians 4:32 - "And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ." Margaret is the beloved mother of Mark and his wife, Jennifer of Lewisville and Matt and his wife, Jody of St. James; proud grandmother of Darcie (Dustin) Rinne, Megan Anderson (Lance Brown), Katelyn Anderson (Steve Trianoski), Alyssa Anderson, Lucas "Bubba" Anderson; and proud great grandmother of Blakely Rinne. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Andy, parents, sisters (Colette Koester & Evelyn Lillie), and brothers (Elmer Zender and Clarence Zender). A private family service was held on Tuesday, May 12th, 2020 at the St. James Catholic Church with burial at the Calvary Cemetary St. James. A Celebration of Life will be held in the near future.
