Marcella Suess

There will be a parish prayer service at 7pm, Wednesday at the funeral home. Marcella was born on April 5, 1922 in Sleepy Eye, MN the daughter of Wenzel Barbara (Zangl) Sellner. She graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1941. Marcella married Bernard Bennie Suess on September 16, 1947 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye. The couple made their home in Sleepy Eye where they owned and operated the Sleepy Eye Auction Market for over 50 years. Marcella worked for Pietrus Produce, McKnights Store, Steinke Seidl Lumber Company and Haas Bakery. Marcella was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Catholic Aid Society, Christian Mothers, Divine Providence Auxiliary, CCW, VFW Auxiliary and the Catholic Conference Study Club. She enjoyed volunteering at Divine, embroidering, quilting, playing cards and spending time with her family and grandchildren. Marcella C. Suess, 85, of Sleepy Eye, MN died on Wednesday, January 16, 2008 at Divine Providence Community Home. Survivors include her husband, Bernard of Sleepy Eye, daughters, Elaine Chambers of Atlanta, GA, and Diane (Dean) Ibberson of Sleepy Eye, four grandsons, Jason Chambers, Forrest (Angela) Ibberson, Ryan Ibberson fiancee Deanne Johnson and children Dylan Trista and Matthew Ibberson, sisters, Bernice Kirchner of Westbrook, Patricia (Edward Spud) Soukup of Sleepy Eye, Barbara (William) Mielke of Brookings, SD and a brother, Floyd (Mary) Sellner of Rosemount. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Alex Sellner and brother-in-law, Lawrence Kirchner.
