Mae A. Bowman was born on May 6, 1929 in Comfrey, MN the daughter of Elmer Alma (Rapp) Bowman. She grew up and graduated from high school in Comfrey. Mae married Cletus Schwab on August 3, 1948 in Comfrey, MN. The couple made their home in Comfrey, later moving to Sleepy Eye where they raised their family. Mae worked at the Sleepy Eye Care Center in the activity department from 1990 to 2001. She enjoyed reading and was a volunteer friend to everyone. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the CCW, the VFW and Legion Auxiliary and various other community organizations. Survivors include her children, Shelley (Jean) Schwab of Sleepy Eye, Douglas (Margaret) Schwab of New Ulm, Barbara (Douglas) Aikin of St. Louis, MO, Debra (Tom) Seitzer of LeSueur, Paula (Marlin) Huiras of New Ulm, 14 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, brother, Floyd Bowman of Comfrey and sister-in-law Carol Bowman of Brooklyn Center. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Cletus, son, Robert, daughter Mary and brothers Fred, Elmo Jim and sister, Amy.
