Mable Bloemke

March 10, 1913 — November 26, 2010

Mable L. Bloemke was born on March 10, 1913 in Willow Creek, MN, the daughter of Albert and Bertha (Beckman) Hoffmann. She grew up in Sanborn where she attended school. She was united in marriage to Henry Bloemke on May 28, 1932 at Zion Lutheran Church in Sanborn. She lived most of her married life on the farm, except two years they spent in Vancouver, WA. Mable worked many years in nursing homes as an aide. Mable loved to bake, embroider, and was a sharp card player. She served as a volunteer driver in Springfield and loved belonging to Senior Citizens. Mable died on Friday, November 26, 2010 at the Springfield Medical Center at the age of 97 years and 8 months. She is survived by her daughters - Donna (Gene) Gramentz of Springfield and Mary Ann (Rod) McGillivray of Andersen, SC; sons - James Bloemke of LeRoy, IL, Wayne (Lois) Bloemke of St. Clair, MN, and Ronald (Joyce) Bloemke of Franklin, MN; a daughter-in-law - Lois Bloemke of St. James; half-sisters - Delna (Arvid) Reddman of Sanborn, and Elaine Heddman of Lamberton; half sister-in-law - Aggie Hoffmann of Springfield; 29 grandchildren; 47 great grandchildren; many great great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband - Henry in 1998; son - Eugene Bloemke; a half-brother - Melford Hoffmann; and sisters - Vaneta Wiese and Dorothy Bittler and half sister - Arlis Hoffmann.
