Mabel Larrabee

Mabel died on Friday, February 8, 2008 at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield at the age of 98 years. Mabel Elise Larrabee was born January 14, 1910 on the family farm to Christian and Else (Ovre) Christensen. She attended country school in Albin Township in Brown County. Mable married Neil Larrabee on November 23, 1929 in Albion Lutheran Church parsonage near St. James, MN. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Mabel lived at Ross Park in Sleepy Eye until moving to St. John Lutheran Home in January of 2000. Mabel enjoyed crafts, sewing, painting, crocheting, reading, puzzles, games and making stuffed animals for hospitals. She is survived by her children - Darlene (Jerome) Hammerschmidt of Fulda, MN and Ronald (Eva) Larrabee - Chaparrell, NM; 10 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 14 great great grandchildren; 1 step great grandson; half brothers and sisters - Christian Samuel (Marie) Christenson of LaSalle, MN, David LeRoy (Gayle) Christenson of Fish Trap Lake, MN, Lloyd Johan (Helen) Christenson of New Ulm, MN, Inez Amelia (Bruce) Schildt of Woodstock, IL, Donna Mae (Carl) Schultz of LaSalle, MN, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband - Neil in April of 1983; 2 sons - Delbert and wife Joyce and Gerald; 1 daughter - Joan and husband Dale Hubert; 10 brothers and sisters - Oliver (Unice) Christensen, Olga (Oliver) Odegard, Clara (Albert) Blackstad, Emma (Christ) Odegard, Selma (Edwin) Bloomquist, Ella (Alvin) Bloomquist, Clifford (Eunice) Christenson, Lavina (George) Rice, Elvin Clarence (Bertha) Christensen, Inga (John) Johnson; 1 half-brother - Howard Dale; 1 grandson - Russell Larrabee; 1 granddaughter - Berniece Larrabee and a great great grandson.
