Lynn Remus passed away November 22, 2011 at his rural Sleepy Eye home after a four year battle with Parkinson's disease. Lynn David Remus was born January 19, 1938 at Sleepy Eye to Roland and Dolores (Bowman) Remus. He attended rural elementary school and Sleepy Eye Public High School graduating in 1956. Following graduation he took a short course in milk testing at the University of Minnesota and joined the family farm raising purebred Yorkshire swine and Jersey cattle. On March 12, 1958 he married Judith Meyer, to which two children were born, David Lynn and Sandra Jeane. Together they continued in the family farm, as well as starting their own beef cattle and crop operation. Lynn was actively farming until health no longer permitted. Lynn served in the Minnesota National Guard for 8 years, and was especially proud of the duty served following the Alaska earthquake in 1964. He was active in several organizations over the years including Minnesota Yorkshire Association, Jersey Cattle Association, Brown County Pork Producers serving as a director, Brown County and club 4-H leader, member of the Brown County Sheriffs Reserve for 12 years and a member of the Sleepy Eye Masonic Lodge. He was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church. He enjoyed many years of showing dairy cattle and swine at various county and Minnesota State fairs for which he earned several awards. Hobbies included hunting, fishing, trap shooting, attending his children's and grandchildren's activities and going to farm shows and fairs. Lynn is survived by wife, Judith, son and daughter in law David and Wendy Remus, Sleepy Eye, daughter and son in law Sandra and Rick Osterday, Java, SD. Grandchildren, Justin and Ashley Remus, Sleepy Eye; Blane Osterday, Java, SD; Kyle Remus, Sleepy Eye; and Clay Osterday, Java, SD . Brother Ronald Remus, Sleepy Eye and brother in law and sister in law Douglas and Donna Meyer, Detriot Lakes, MN, aunts, uncles, a niece and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
