Lyla Schottenbauer

Lyla M. Schottenbauer, 85, of Evan, passed away Monday June 8 at Sleepy Eye Care Center. Lyla was born May 13, 1930 to Harold and Laura (Meyer) Zimmermann in Morgan, MN. As she grew up she helped with the family and attended Morgan High School where she graduated in 1948. She married Harold J. Schottenbauer on December 5, 1950 and moved to Evan. She worked multiple jobs including Pietrus Produce and Del Monte. After many years of service, she retired from the Sleepy Eye Medical Center. She was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Evan. She is survived by her children, Edward (Pearl) Schottenbauer of Sleepy Eye, Marie (Robert) Fischer of Morgan, Ann (Ron) Konz of Sleepy Eye, and Kay (Eugene) Ludewig of Sleepy Eye; 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and waiting for the arrival of 2 more. She is also survived by 3 sisters, Helen Lemcke of Morgan, Dorothy (Robert) Thulien of Sleepy Eye, Ruth (Herb) Steffl of Alexandria, a brother, Raymond Zimmermann of Hutchison, sisters-in-law, Joyce Zimmermann of New Ulm, and Nancy (Arnold) Gammelgaard of Osseo. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold in 1992, parents, brothers, Don and Delfred Zimmermann.
