Luverna Margaret (Guttum) Wiesner was born on April 27, 1917 in Leavenworth, MN, the daughter of Joseph Magdalena (Roiger) Brandl. She married Joseph W. Guttum on May 28, 1940 at the Church of the Japanese Martyrs in Leavenworth. The couple lived and farmed near Hanska for many years. Joseph died in 1971. Luverna worked in the housekeeping department at Divine Providence. Luverna married Wenzel Wiesner on August 12, 1989 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye. The couple made their home in Sleepy Eye. Wenzel died in 1996. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye, Catholic Aid, Christian Mothers, Legion Auxiliary and volunteered at the Care Center. She enjoyed crocheting, dancing, gardening and especially her grandchildren. Survivors include her children their spouses; Marietta David Ludewig, Margaret Walter Windschitl, all of Sleepy Eye, Bernice Groff of New London, Phyllis Case special friend, Myron of Franklin, Diane Randy Wenisch, Joseph Donna Guttum, all of Springfield, 31 grandchildren, 53 great grandchildren and sisters-in-law, Agatha Guttum of New Ulm and Anna Brandl of Sleepy Eye. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Joseph Brandl, husband, Joseph Guttum, husband, Wenzel Wiesner, 3 granddaughters and 2 great granddaughters in February of 2002.
