Luisa Martinez

Luisa Martinez passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at Mayo Clinic Health System – Mankato. Luisa Reyes was born in Mission, Texas on August 25, 1946, the daughter of Epifanio and Hermenegilda (Limon) Reyes. She grew up in Mission and earned her GED. She married Manuel Martinez on February 2, 1963. They worked summers in Minnesota for several years while living in Mission. Luisa became a nursing assistant in 1989 and worked in the Good Samaritan Center in McAllen, TX. In the summer of 1991, they moved to St. James and Luisa transferred to Pleasant View Good Samaritan Center in St. James where she worked until her retirement in 2016. Luisa enjoyed stamp collecting, she also loved to cook for her family. She was a true care giver, she enjoyed taking care of her family, and others, especially helping take care of the elderly. She is survived by her children; Ana Gonzalez of Grand Prairie, Texas, Reynaldo Martinez of Moorhead, Ruben Reyes of St. James, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, siblings; Cecilo of Moorhead, Brigida of Mission, TX, Ricardo of Moorhead, Epifanio, Jr. of Mission, Marta Elena of St. James, Hilda of Grand Prairie, TX, David of St. James, Melinda of Grand Prairie, TX, Ramiro of Moorhead, and Anita of Grand Prairie, TX. She is preceded in death by her husband, son Rene, parents, and sister Juanita R Tello and brother Pedro Reyes.
