Lucille 'Lucy' Marie Maurer

Lucille 'Lucy' Marie Maurer was born September 16, 1931, in Springfield, MN to Frank and Louise (Kastner) Meisinger. She was united in marriage to Wallace 'Ole' Maurer on June 16, 1949, at St. Raphael's Catholic Church in Springfield. The couple farmed for 40 years in North Star Township. Upon their retirement in 1992, they moved to Springfield. Lucy enjoyed dedicating her service to the church and community. She received the Bishop's Medal of Service on September 26, 2010. Lucy enjoyed dancing, handiwork, reading, and watching the Minnesota Twins. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family. Lucy was a member of St. Raphael's Catholic Church, St. Ann's CCW, St. John Lutheran Home Auxiliary, and the American Legion Auxiliary. She is survived by sons- John (Jane) Maurer of Cottage Grove, Jim (Judy) Maurer of Springfield, and Jeff (Karla) Maurer of North Mankato; grandchildren- Andy (Karie), Aric (Nicole), Tim (Heidi), Bill (Katie), Katie, Jeanne (fiance' John Schlack), Michael, and Anne Maurer; great-grandchildren- Reece, Auden, Rayen, Wyatt, and Kennedy Maurer, Liam Knott, and Kane Knott Maurer; sisters- Eileen Fredin of Comfrey, and Ardis Olson of Sleepy Eye; sister-in-law Berniece Maurer of Morris; brothers-in-law- Ken U'Ren of Redwood Falls, and Richard Wohlrabe of Deer River; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Wallace 'Ole' in 2006; and sister Margaret Schunk in 2014.
