Lucille "Lucy" Lorena Thorson

Lucille "Lucy" Lorena Thorson age 84, died on April 5, 2025 surrounded by her family at Brookside Senior Living in Montevideo, MN.

A graveside service will be on Saturday, April 12, 2025 at 2:00pm at the St. Olaf Church Cemetery in Rural Odin, MN.

Lucille "Lucy" Lorena Hoeper was born on the family farm to Walter and Lorena (Miller) Hoeper on May 10, 1940 in Madelia, MN.  She was a graduate from Madelia High School and attended vocational school for 3 years. Over the years Lucy worked in many capacities, including working at Hardees in Willmar, the post office, Jennie-O, the hospital in St. James and later at the Litchfield Hospital, where she retired in 2003.  She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.  She loved sewing, crafting, playing word chums on line and playing bingo.  Lucy lived her entire life in Minnesota.  She participated in many flea markets over the years, selling Watkins products and her home made crafts.

Lucy is survived by her children, David (Donna) Berg of Sioux Falls, SD, Douglas (Mary) Berg of Lawrence, KS, Jeff (Vickie) Berg of Cold Spring, MN, Nancy (Doug) Christensen of Spicer, MN, Mary (Wade) Schmaedeka of Montevideo, MN; 12 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; brothers, Dale and Norm Hoeper; many nieces and nephews, and special grand kitty "Willow".  She is preceded in death by her husband Milo Thorson; son, Thomas Berg; parents, Walter and Lorena Hoeper, and sister, Bonnie Zinke.
