Born on May 15, 1932, to Bertha and Wolfgang Spaeth, Lucille grew up on her family’s "home place" in rural Morgan, Mn. It was at the Sleepy Eye Armory dances where she met the love of her life, Armin Losleben. The two were wed on May 23, 1950, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Morgan, beginning a beautiful partnership that spanned decades.
Lucille and Armin built their life farming near Essig, Mn. She was far more than a farm wife; she was a true partner in the operation, managing the complex bookkeeping and reports. In the early years, before their children were old enough to help, Lucille was out in the fields alongside Armin, driving the tractor and baling hay.
A devoted member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Lucille was the "flavor" of many church festivities. She was renowned for her homemade dumplings and her legendary Angel Food cakes. In the Losleben household, a birthday wasn't official until one of Lucille’s cakes was on the table.
She found great joy in the simple pleasures: Attending card parties and 4th of July picnics with her eight siblings; Hosting her family for gatherings on holidays. She especially cherished morning coffee and long chats with her eldest daughter, Connie.
Her hobbies included gardening, and canning the bounty of her garden, along with quilting and other sewing projects.
Lucille is survived by her children, Laurie (Dan) Rochel of Isanti, Randy (Corinne) Losleben of Litchfield, and Brian Losleben of St. Peter. She leaves behind a legacy of love in her grandchildren, Rachel (Kyle) Diederich, Cory Losleben, Sarah Rochel (Matt Turner), and Jessie Rochel, as well as four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Deloris Spaeth, Theresa Spaeth, and Marjorie Losleben.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Armin; her daughters, Barbara and Connie; her son, Ricky; and all of her brothers and sisters.
