Lowell Duane Koch otherwise known as "Stub" , age 87, of St. James, Minnesota passed away on Monday, January 17, 2022, following a stroke. A private family service was held with a public service planned for the summer. Burial with military honors will be 1:00pm, Saturday, April 9, 2022 at Elm Creek Cemetery near Trimont. Lowell was born October 13, 1934 in Monterey, Minnesota to Harry and Helen (Clemmensen) Koch. He graduated from Trimont High School in 1952 . Following high school he joined the US Army and served our country honorably from 1952 to 1956. He attended Mankato State University receiving a degree in education. He met his wife, RoseAdelle Martin at college, and were married on August 2, 1957. Together they had four children, Brian, Terry, Kevin, and Rebecca. They moved to Butterfield, Minnesota for his first teaching job. He later took a teaching job in St. James, Minnesota where he taught Industrial Arts and Electronics. While teaching He also enjoyed coaching boys basketball and tennis. Stub kept busy in the summer months as the greens keeper at the Watonwan Country Club, raising pigs and farming. After his retirement he continued to farm, enjoyed repairing and refinishing furniture with Del , hatching and raising pheasants to let go in the wild. The last few years he enjoyed watching any type of sports and hanging out with his four-legged friends. He is preceded in death by his wife, RoseAdelle, his parents, inlaws Paul and Myrtle Martin, son Brian Koch and grandson Brent Koch. Brothers ; Bobby, Harold "Cork", Harlan, Marlan and Ed and his special four legged friend, Ralph. Left to cherish his memories are his children Terry (Lori) Koch, St. James, Minnesota, Kevin ( Annette) Koch, Dell City, Texas, Becky ( Mark) Sandmeyer, St. James, Minnesota. Grandchildren Kristen ( Mitchell) Larson, Kaylee Koch, Adam (Tiffany) Koch, Katie ( Josh ) Swanson, Maegan ( Brandon) Romsdahl, Sam (Kara) Koch, Mariah ( Nate ) Lowe, Danielle ( Matt) Larson, Anthony ( Brittany ) Lenz, Morgan ( Trevor) Hamman, Noah ( Bailey) Sandmeyer, many great grandchildren and a great great granddaughter. His brother Ethan and Mary Ann Koch, Fairmont, Minnesota and nieces and nephews.
