Louise Ellen Quiring

Louise Ellen Quiring age 94, of Mountain Lake, MN died on January 20, 2024, at Good Samaritan Society in Mountain Lake, MN.

Visitation will be on Thursday, January 25, 2024, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the First Baptist Church in Windom. Service will be held at the First Baptist Church on Thursday at 11:00 am. The clergy will be Pastor Marlin Mohrman. Interment will be at the Mountain Lake City Cemetery. Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Mtn. Lake, MN.

Louise Ellen Quiring was born on December 29, 1929, to Karl Karschnik and Lucille (Olson) Karschnik in Jackson County, MN.  She graduated from Mountain Lake High School and Mankato Business College.

She later met Donald Henry Quiring and they were married on November 25, 1948.  They were together for 55 wonderful years.  In 1956 the family moved from the farm in Mountain Lake to Blue Earth, MN and later to Owatonna and Prior Lake before they later settled in Mountain Lake in order to better deal with Donald’s Parkinsons.  They were living in their home for a few years before Donald went into the nursing home while Louise still lived in their home.  Donald passed way in 2004.  Soon after, Louise sold the Mountain Lake home and has lived in a series of assisting living and care facilities in Windom and finally in Mountain Lake.  With the losses she has had, her spirit and faith in God never wavered.  She never got too excited or depressed about very many things.  She was a great example of a Godly wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  THANK YOU MOM, GRANDMA, AND GREAT GRANDMOTHER!

We were very grateful to those who served in taking care of her, especially those who cared for her at the Good Sam in Mountain Lake.  Donald had previously spent 5 years at Good Sam. She is survived by her children - Randy (Paulettte) Quiring, Todd (Kathi) Quiring, a daughter-in-law - Sarah Quiring;  6 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her husband; sons - Dana and Clark Quiring; daughter-in-law - Melodie Quiring; grandchildren - Ben Quiring and Katie Donaldson; and sister and brother-in-law - Norma and Arnold Quiring.
