Lorraine Potter

Lorraine Vera Potter was born to Arthur and Marietta Jensen on September 21, 1930 on their farm near Evan, MN. She attended a one room country school and then Morgan High School. After graduation she attended beauty school in Minneapolis. Lorraine married Robert Potter on February 9, 1951 at St. Mathews Church in Evan. Lorraine and Robert lived and farmed on the Potter family century farm in North Star Township. Lorraine has been a long time volunteer at St. John Lutheran Home. She was a member of the Springfield Historical Society, North Star Study Club, Brown County Porkettes, American Legion Auxiliary and Memory Makers quilt club. Lorraine was an active member in the Springfield Methodist Church where she was involved as a Sunday School teacher. She enjoyed spending time with family and on the farm. Lorraine also enjoyed quilting, bird watching, gardening, spending time at the family cabin and watching high school sporting events. Lorraine Potter, age 76, of Springfield, MN, died Saturday, May 19, 2007, at Springfield Medical Center. Lorraine is survived by her husband - Robert; sons - Dennis and wife Lucy Potter of Springfield, David Potter of Minneapolis; grandchildren - Jessica Potter, Erin and husband John Lafferty, Nate Potter; 2 great grandchildren - Kierin and Kiera; sisters - Mae Meyer of Springfield, Arlene and husband Werner Aarons of Sleepy Eye, MN, Gloria and husband Gene Meyer of Hesperia, CA; sister-in-laws - Evelyn Jensen of Sleepy Eye and June Roiger of Zimmerman, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother Roger Jensen of Sleepy Eye.
